The 49ers failed to keep pace in the NFC playoff race Sunday, losing 30-23 to the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.
With the Week 13 loss, the 49ers (6-6) fell from the No. 6 seed in the NFC to the No. 7 seed. Washington Football Team also is 6-6 after beating the Las Vegas Raiders on a last-minute field goal at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. Washington holds the tiebreaker over the 49ers due to a better record within the conference.
The Los Angeles Rams routed the Jacksonville Jaguars to improve to 8-4, and they now have a two-game lead over the 49ers and Washington for the No. 5 seed in the NFC.

If the playoffs began next weekend, the 49ers would head to Lambeau Field to take on the No. 2 seed Green Bay Packers in the NFC wild-card round.
The 49ers led 17-7 early in the second quarter against the Seahawks, but couldn't hold on in a wild back-and-forth game in the Pacific Northwest. San Francisco got down to the goal line and had a chance to tie or even win the game on the final drive, but were unable to get into the end zone as Jimmy Garoppolo's fourth-and-goal pass was deflected and fell incomplete.
