The 49ers agreed to a three-year contract with running back and special teams stand-out Raheem Mostert on Friday, according to his agent Brett Tessler.
Tessler had previously announced that he was attempting to broker a multi-year deal for Mostert to remain with the team. Not being able to come to terms at the time, Tessler stated Mostert would take the restricted tender the team had offered and remain in Santa Clara for 2019.

Mostert was scheduled to make $2.025 million as a restricted free-agent after four seasons in the NFL.
In 2018, he rushed the ball 34 times for a career-high 261 yards and one touchdown. He also recorded six tackles on special teams.
Mostert’s 2018 was cut short after breaking his arm and being placed on injured reserve in early November.

The 49ers now have an extremely crowded backfield that already featured Matt Breida and Jerick McKinnon by bringing back Mostert and signing free agent Tevin Coleman.
Coach Kyle Shanahan has never suited four running backs in one game. One talented player is sure to be inactive on game days, and it likely won't be Mostert because of his abilities on special teams.
