SANDIEGO (AP) San Diego Chargers star tight end Antonio Gates is inactivefor Thursday night's game against San Francisco because of a painfultear in the plantar fascia in his right foot.Gates will sit out for the fourth time in six games.Among the other Chargers inactives are linebacker Larry English,right guard Louis Vasquez and wide receiver Malcom Floyd. RandyMcMichael is to start for Gates, Tyronne Green for Vasquez and LegeduNaanee for Floyd.The 49ers have reported no lineup changes.
