The player-by-player review of every position group from the 49ers' 45-3 victory over the Buffalo Bills continues . . .Offensive line
-Jonathan Goodwin: He started at center and played all but the final series of the game. . . He was perfect in pass protection and held up very well as a run-blocker, too. Made block on DT Marcell Dareus to open the middle for Gore's 19-yard run in the first quarter. Good block on Dareus on Gore's 17-yard gain in third quarter.
-Joe Looney: Was not active (coaches' decision).
-Daniel Kilgore: He saw action on 16 snaps of offense, including the final 12 plays at center when the 49ers rested some of the regulars. . . While lined up at tight end, he got a piece of a linebacker to enable Gore to score on 1-yard TD run in third quarter.
-Leonard Davis: He saw action on 16 plays on offense, including the final 12 plays at right guard when the 49ers moved some players around.
-Joe Staley: He started at left tackle and played 56 snaps in the game. . . Called for false start in first quarter. He was also called for holding on a play in which Colin Kaepernick made a deep throw down the field. That block appeared to be textbook and did not appear to warrant a penalty. . . Had one-on-one pass protection against DE Mario Williams on 28-yard TD pass at end of first half. Smith was able to step into the throw with Williams coming from that side. . . Made block on Mark Anderson as Gore gained 31 yards in third quarter. Block on OLB Nick Barnett on Gore's 17-yard run.
-Alex Boone: He started at right guard and then moved to left tackle for the final series. He played every snap in the game. . . Made block on DT Kyle Williams to help open hole for Gore on 19-yard run. Had a pancake block on Williams on third-and-10 play in which Hunter gained 12 yards over the right side. Got to second level to block LB Kyle Moore on Bruce Miller's 9-yard run in third quarter. Bock on ILB Kevin Sheppard on Gore's 17-yard run in third quarter.
-Anthony Davis: He started at right tackle and played every snap. He mostly matched up against Williams, and played very well in the run game and pass protection. . . Allowed one pressure in which Williams got around him with a swim move and hit QB Alex Smith as he was throwing incomplete deep to Vernon Davis in the fourth quarter . . . Helped Dixon get into the end zone when he moved the pile, Sheppard and Dixon, into the end zone on for a 3-yard TD run.
-Mike Iupati: Started and played every snap at left guard. . . He had a strong game in pass protection, as he kept the pocket clean for Alex Smith. . . Stood up Dareus and moved him out of the way on a Gore 10-yard run in the fourth quarter. Made block on LB Nigel Bradham on Dixon's 3-yard TD run late in game. . . On the negative side, he was called for holding against Bills DT Kyle Williams, which nullified a 21-yard gain on the first drive. And he was called for false start in second quarter.
