SAN FRANCISCO – Kevon Looney’s second free-agency period ended Friday.
The 6-foot-9 center-forward re-signed with the Warriors in July, accepting a three-year contract worth $15 million.
Looney’s search for a shoe contract took a bit longer, but he’ll be wearing Anta for at least the next two seasons.

“The most important thing about a shoe is comfortability, and also being able to last throughout the game and take care of your feet,” Looney told NBC Sports Bay Area. “I feel Anta does the best job of that.
“Also, I like to wear crazy colorways. And Anta has been doing a great job with new colors and creating funky designs. That’s something I was looking for. I saw all the design options they had, and I was ready to sign up.”

Looney becomes the third Warriors to align with Anta, joining five-time All-Star Klay Thompson -- the Chinese company’s first major client -- and second-year pro Jacob Evans.

After wearing Adidas during his first four NBA seasons, Looney took note of Thompson’s shoes and, realizing they both wear size 15, one day actually tried one on. He was hooked.
“When I got a chance to wear Klay’s shoes, it was dope,” Looney said after a photo session with Anta representatives. “I’ve been watching his growth. I told him I believe I can wear them better than he can.
“Everybody talks about ‘China Klay,’ and now I get to be a part of the Anta family,”
In addition to Thompson and Evans, Looney joins Celtics forward Gordon Hayward and Lakers guard Rajon Rondo as Anta clients.
