Kevin Durant left the Warriors nearly four years ago, but amazingly, he still hasn't played in front of Dub Nation at Chase Center, which opened its doors for the 2019-20 NBA season.
Whether it was the coronavirus pandemic or injuries, Durant hasn't felt the Warriors fans' adulation since his shocking departure to the Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2019.
The one time Durant played at Chase Center -- a venue he helped break ground on -- on Feb. 13, 2021, the arena was devoid of fans to keep them safe during the pandemic.
Durant's odd streak continued Monday as the Phoenix Suns' newest superstar missed the game against the Warriors while he recovers from a sprained left ankle sustained during pregame warmups on March 8.
Before Monday's game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked to react to Durant missing another game at Chase Center.
"It is nuts," Kerr told reporters. "It is insane. It's been a while. It's been how many years? Four years? This is the fourth year? And we've always kind of anticipated his return and we've always had a planned 'Welcome back' video to thank him for everything he did for this franchise, and then literally every game, something comes up, or as you said, the pandemic.
"I remember the one game he did play with Brooklyn with no fans here. So it's a shame because I think our fans would give him a lot of love, the applause and the energy he deserves for everything he did for us."
While he still was with the Nets earlier this season, Durant missed the Jan. 22 game at Chase Center due to an MCL injury.
Durant also missed the Jan. 29, 2022 Nets-Warriors game in San Francisco as he dealt with a left knee injury.
Golden State Warriors
The star joined the Warriors in the summer of 2016 and helped them win the next two NBA titles while capturing the Finals MVP both times. A torn left Achilles derailed his third and final season with Golden State and a chance at a three-peat.

The Warriors and Suns don't play again in the regular season, but if they match up against each other in the NBA playoffs and Durant is healthy, that would create quite the scene if his first game in front of Dub Nation comes prior to an intense postseason game.
