Cody Ross is headed back to the NL West, but he'll be an opponent to the Giants this time after agreeing to terms Saturday with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The deal is reportedly for three-years and $26 million, and includes a club option with a $1 million buyout.
Ross, 31, is two years removed from his 2010 postseason heroics with the Giants and coming off a one-year, $3 million contract with the Red Sox. He hit .267 last year, knocking in 81 RBI on 22 home runs in 130 games.
The nine-year veteran joins Justin Upton, Jason Kubel and Adam Eaton in the Diamondbacks outfield.
Ross will always be remembered in the Bay Area for the power surge he enjoyed during the Giants' 2010 title run. Ross left the yard five times and knocked in 10 runs in 15 postseason games. Amazingly, he broke up no hitters with home runs in three consecutive games, spanning Game 4 of the NLDS against the Braves to Game 2 of the NLCS in Philadelphia.
Arizona's roster will look awfully familiar to Bay Area baseball fans. Arizona added former Athletics Brandon McCarthy, Cliff Pennington, Eric Chavez and Kila Ka'aihue this offseason to join Trevor Cahill in the desert.
