Another day, another ridiculous Matt Chapman play.
The Oakland A's third baseman added another incredible catch to his highlight reel Friday night against the Houston Astros. When Josh Reddick fouled off a pitch in the third inning, Chapman sprinted into the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum's expansive foul territory ... and ... well, see the rest for yourself in the video attached to this post.

In his second season in the bigs, Chapman is well on his way to his first Gold Glove award. Chapman led all fielders entering the All-Star break, regardless of league in position, with a 17.2 SABR Defensive Index (SDI). SDI represents a quarter of the selection process for the award, according to SABR.
The 25-year-old also entered Friday with 2.9 defensive wins above replacement (WAR) to his name, according to Baseball Reference. When he covers that much ground in Oakland's cavernous foul territory, it isn't hard to see why.
