Oakland A’s right-handed pitcher Andrew Triggs is likely done for the season.
He underwent surgery on his left hip, the club announced on Friday. The surgery was performed yesterday in Vail, Col. by Dr. Marc Philippon, who repaired the labrum in Triggs’ left hip.
Triggs was in the A’s Opening Day starting rotation and was 5-6 with a 4.27 ERA in 12 starts. After going 5-2 with a 2.12 ERA over his first eight starts, he went 0-4 with a 9.64 ERA over his final four before going on the disabled June 10.
