The Sharks have added another goaltending prospect to their system.
According to Sport Express, the Sharks have signed Georgy Romanov to a two-year contract. San Jose Hockey Now has confirmed this report with Romanov’s agent Sergey Isakov of Newport Sports Management.
Romanov, 23, mostly played in the VHL, Russia’s second-division league, this past season, posting an 8-13-5 record with a .907 save percentage for Gornyak-UGMK. He also made his KHL debut, in the shootout no less, for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in Dec. 2022.
Over four VHL campaigns, all with Gornyak, the 6-foot-4 netminder has a 28-33-10 record with a .916 save percentage.
