SANTA CLARA -- Nick Bosa believes there is a little luck needed to help the 49ers defense in one element.
Bosa and the defense came out of the tunnel raring to go but couldn’t sustain their containment of Russell Wilson in the 49ers' 28-21 loss to the Seahawks. After forcing five straight punts to open the game, Seattle’s offense managed a few explosive plays to get points on the board.
Turnovers are almost always a determining factor in games. The 49ers' offense gave away the ball twice, giving Seattle advantageous field position, and the 49ers' defense was unable to record any takeaways.

SIGN UP HERE "I think we played pretty well,” Bosa said. “I think we came with the right mentality and were running to the ball trying to get turnovers. We were close to a few of them, but sometimes it’s luck with turnovers and we can’t seem to get them right now.
"We just got to keep going.”
Bosa and Co. forced three more punts in the second half but were unable to prevent the Seahawks from scoring on three straight possessions.
“I feel like we always start fast against Seattle,” Bosa said. “It was 7-0, so obviously we knew it wasn’t close to being over. We knew it was going to be a four-quarter game, so even with the fast start we were locked in the whole game.”

Bosa, who was critical of his play facing the Green Bay Packers, came into the game refocused, set to play through the instant chipping that has been done by opposing offenses. The 2019 Defensive Rookie of the Year managed his first career sack of Wilson, along with three quarterbacks hits. Bosa also recorded three tackles -- one solo.
The 49ers have an even bigger task at hand next Sunday when they head to Arizona to face Kyler Murray and the undefeated Cardinals.
