Raheem Mostert appears to be trying to bridge the gap with the 49ers.
The running back, who requested a trade after his salary demands were not met, reached out to a high-ranking member of the organization in order to "get on the same page," NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

Mostert, who exploded onto the scene for the 49ers in the playoffs, just wants his salary to be "in line" with teammate Tevin Coleman, his agent said at the time of the trade request.
Coleman's $4.55 million base salary is nearly $2 million more than Mostert's $2.575 million, per OverTheCap. However, Mostert's salary is not guaranteed. Coleman, on the other hand, had $2 million guaranteed on April 1. Coleman can make up to $4.9 million this season after workout and roster bonuses. Mostert tops out at $2.825 million.

While both Mostert and Coleman rushed 137 times in the regular season, Mostert led the team in yards (772) and touchdowns (eight). He also had twice as many carries and touches as Coleman from Week 13 onward.

Mostert still is under contract for two seasons, including 2020, and the 49ers have the eighth-highest salary-cap figure for running backs in the NFL. The 49ers also are trying to work out a lucrative contract extension for star tight end George Kittle, and have to keep in mind future cap ramifications for impending extensions for Nick Bosa and Trent Williams.
Mostert and his agent hope the talks were productive in bringing the sides closer to a deal. The running back doesn't have a lot of leverage in this situation, but with training camp approaching, the 49ers would like all their ducks in a row as their Revenge Tour gets underway.
