As was anticipated since last weekend, the Warriors on Wednesday signed veteran point guard Jose Calderon.
He won’t be a Warrior for long.
Though Calderon, 35, was targeted by the Warriors prior to the release of young point guard and D-League standout Briante Weber, the team’s priorities changed with the injury to Kevin Durant on Tuesday.
Whereas Calderon's experience made him the choice to be the team’s third-string point guard, the Warriors became desperate for a wing when they realized Durant would be out for a significant period.

With that, they’ll release Calderon -- with full pay, after honoring their original agreement -- to make room for veteran wing Matt Barnes.
Barnes, who will turn 37 years old next week, is expected to meet with his new teammates Thursday in Chicago. He joins Andre Iguodala as the only healthy natural wings on the roster.
