The Giants will wear special jerseys Saturday as part of an effort to commemorate Juneteenth, the organization announced.
For the game against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Giants will wear replica San Francisco Sea Lions jerseys to mark the 75th anniversary of the West Coast Negro Baseball Association team. The jerseys will be auctioned off next week on the team's website, with the proceeds benefiting San Francisco Juneteenth celebrations.
Juneteenth is a holiday honoring the emancipation of those who had been enslaved, and the Giants will hold a pregame ceremony to celebrate the day. The family of Toni Stone, the first female professional baseball player, will be part of the ceremony and the Giants will give her family a Sea Lions jersey. The Giants also plan to name a street in their Mission Rock development after Stone, who briefly played for the Sea Lions.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the West Coast Negro Baseball Association, which played for about three months in 1946. The Sea Lions were one of his six teams and played their games at Seals Stadium.
