Two years after losing out to the Red Sox in negotiating with third baseman Pablo Sandoval during free agency, the Giants are reportedly "internally considering" a trade to bring him back to San Francisco, according to Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald.

Sandoval only played three games this last season due a torn left labrum. He didn't record any hits in six at-bats. In two seasons with Boston, Sandoval has played in 129 games and owns a .242/.290/.361 slash line.

Sandoval spent the first seven years of his career in San Francisco. The switch-hitting third baseman won three World Series and made two All-Star appearances with the Giants. He was named the MVP of the 2012 World Series.

On Nov. 25, 2014, Sandoval signed a five-year, $95 million contract with the Red Sox.
