Matt Chapman will no longer lock down the hot corner for the Athletics.

The A's traded their third baseman to the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday, in exchange for four prospects.

After the trade, Chapman took to social media where he posted a heartfelt message to the organization and the fans.

Chapman spent five seasons with the A's, where he established himself as one of the game's best young third basemen.

Collecting three Gold Glove awards, while finishing in the Top-10 in AL MVP voting twice, Chapman and former first baseman Matt Olson formed a powerful duo in the heart of the A's order.

In his goodbye post, Chapman thanks both the A's organization and the fans, who he believes deserve a new stadium in Oakland.

"Thank you to the fans in Oakland," Chapman writes. "You guys are one of a kind and deserve a new stadium and so much more!"

Despite just five years with the organization, Chapman will certainly go down as one of the best third basemen in franchise history.
