The Buddy Reed Show continued Monday for the A's at Hohokam Stadium.
Reed, 25, impressed at the plate and in the field during Monday's 13-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He hit a two-run homer in his only at-bat and threw a runner out trying advance for the second straight day.

Reed also threw out Alfredo Rodriguez at third base from center field. That defensive gem came one day after he nailed Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Matt Beaty at home plate from right field in Oakland's Cactus League opener.

Reed always has been known as a great defender with a rocket arm. The only question surrounding him is consistency at the plate. He hit just .228 with 126 strikeouts in Double-A back in 2019 but evaluators always have believed in his skill set. The former second-round draft pick has a career .249 batting average in the minors with a .710 OPS.

If Reed can put it all together this spring and beyond, he can look like a steal as someone Oakland acquired in December 2019 from the San Diego Padres.
