Johnny Cueto takes shimmy to new level during Giants-Dodgers opener

Johnny Cueto brought his entire bag of tricks with him to Los Angeles for the Giants' 2020 MLB season opener Thursday.

During the first few innings, the Giants ace busted out several different types of shimmies to throw off the timing of the Dodgers' hitters.

We've seen Cueto shimmy before, but some of these were stranger than normal. It almost looks like Cueto lost his balance on the first one.

In the third inning, Cueto froze Dodgers designated hitter A.J. Pollock with a nasty changeup.

Whatever Cueto was doing early, it was working. He pitched three scoreless innings while striking out a trio of Dodgers.

Things got a bit tougher for Cueto in the fourth inning as the Dodgers tied the game 1-1 on an Enrique Hernandez single that scored Corey Seager, who doubled in the previous at-bat.

One of the downsides of the 60-game season is that Giants fans will only get to see Cueto shimmy his way through about 12 starts.
