Jasper Weatherby got the Sharks on the board Sunday morning with a strike into the left corner against the Boston Bruins.

Unable to break through with the Sharks, Dylan Gambrell will continue his professional hockey career with a new organization.

San Jose announced Sunday night that Gambrell has been traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick.

The seventh-rounder that the Sharks received in the trade originally belonged to them, as it was previously acquired by the Senators as part of a three-team trade with San Jose and the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 21, 2021.

Gambrell, 25, played in 110 games with the Sharks between 2017-2021, collecting 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) and 32 penalty minutes. This season, he has appeared in three games with the San Jose Barracuda, picking up four penalty minutes.

Gambrell originally was selected by the Sharks in the 2016 NHL Draft (second round, 60th overall).
