Mostert laughs at claim Bucs WR Miller's faster than Tyreek

With Matthew Stafford reportedly on his way out of Detroit, NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco believes Kyle Shannahan and John Lynch are discussing the possibility of bringing him to the Bay Area.

We could all use a good laugh right now. Raheem Mostert certainly had one Wednesday when Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Scotty Miller claimed he could beat Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill in a race.

In fact, the 49ers running back could have a good reason to believe he would beat both of the speedy receivers in a race. Mostert had the two fastest ball-carrier speeds, according to Next Gen Stats, in the 2020 regular season.

During the 49ers' season-opener against the Arizona Cardinals, Mostert clocked a top speed of 22.73 mph in his 76-yard reception. He then topped his own mark when he hit 23.09 mph on an 80-yard touchdown against the New York Jets.

Mostert clocked a 4.34 time in the 40-yard dash at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine. Miller and Hill did not participate in the combine, but Miller ran a 4.39 at his pro day and Hill had the fastest time of the three at his pro day when he ran a 4.29.

We'll likely never see the three line up for a race, but with pads on during game day, one thing is clear: Mostert was the fastest of the three in the regular season. It's hard to beat that.
