With 53-man rosters needing to be set by Saturday, the 49ers trimmed one more name from the list.

Linebacker Sean Porter was released by the team on Tuesday.

Porter signed with the 49ers on August 9. He spent the 2016 season on the 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh in Jacksonville. Porter appeared in two games for the Jaguars.

By releasing Porter and trading tight end Vance McDonald to the Steelers earlier on Tuesday, the 49ers' roster now stands at 87 players.
