SANTA CLARA -- Wide receiver Eric Rogers, who signed with the 49ers after excelling in the Canadian Football League, is out for the season after sustaining a knee injury in practice on Thursday.
Rogers sustained a torn left ACL during a non-contact special teams drill, 49ers coach Chip Kelly said.

"It's a real big blow for him," Kelly said. "He was doing a great job for us. I really feel for him. He made the transition from the CFL, and he had a great spring for us and was really pushing it here during camp."
Rogers will be placed on season ending injury reserve. The 49ers will sign a wide receiver to take his place on the 90-man roster, Kelly said.
