The 49ers will be in the market for a new kicker with all indications their union with Phil Dawson has come to an end.
The most likely candidates to replace Dawson are veteran free-agents Nick Folk and Greg Zuerlein.
The Arizona Cardinals are negotiating a free-agent contract with Dawson, the Arizona Republic reported.

Dawson, 42, has spent the past four seasons with the 49ers after kicking for the Cleveland Browns for the first 14 seasons of his career. While with the 49ers, Dawson made 99 of 115 field-goal attempts (86.1 percent).
Dawson ranks 10th all time with 404 made field goals. His 84.5 career accuracy percentage is 11th in league history.
Dawson is looking to play for a team located closer to his home in Texas, according to a source close to Dawson. Dawson's family has remained in Texas during the four seasons Dawson has been with the 49ers.
The New York Jets released Folk, a 10-year veteran, who connected on 27 of 31 field-goal attempts last season. He has made 81.3 percent of his career field-goal attempts.

Zuerlein, 29, made 19 of 22 (86.4 percent) field goals for the Los Angeles Rams last season. Zuerlein has a 79.2 accuracy rate in his five-year career, all of which has been with the Rams.
