Former major league infielder Edgar Gonzalez has signed a minor-league contract with the Giants, vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evans told CSNBayArea.com Thursday night.
The deal does not include an invite to San Francisco's major league camp. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Last season Gonzalez hit .263 with 12 homers and 44 RBIs in 100 games.

He played for the Padres in 2008 and 2009. Gonzalez has also spent time on the organizations of Tampa Bay, Texas, Washington, Florida and St. Louis.
Gonzalez is the older brother of former Padres and current Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.
