BOX SCORE

SACRAMENTO -- It wasn’t pretty. Actually, it was downright ugly.

The Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves played a double-overtime stinker Thursday evening at Golden 1 Center that seemed like it would never end.

After 58 minutes of basketball, it was the Timberwolves that somehow found a way to snap their 11-game losing streak, beating the Kings on their home floor by a final of 105-104.

Gorgui Dieng led the way with 21 points and 15 rebounds for Minnesota. Robert Covington added 19 points and Andrew Wiggins went for 18 on 4-of-19 shooting.

Here are three takeaways as the Kings dropped their fifth straight game to fall to 12-19 on the season.

Two bigs

In just their second game as the Kings’ starting frontcourt, both Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley did some serious damage.

Holmes locked down the starting center position with his strong play early in the season and he’s adjusting just fine to having Bagley next to him. Holmes posted his 11th double-double of the season, finishing with 20 points, a career-high 18 rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Bagley went to work in the post early and tallied a season-high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting. He chipped in four rebounds, but he banged his left foot late in the third quarter and sat out fourth.

Welcome back Bogi

Sacramento is 0-5 this season when Bogdan Bogdanovic missed a game due to injury. The third-year guard was questionable all the way until 40 minutes before tip-off, but he was able to give it a go and played well off of head coach Luke Walton’s bench.

He struggled with his shooting, knocking down just eight of his 28 attempts on the night, but Bogdanovic still managed to score 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 43 minutes.

Despite the rough shooting night, a healthy Bogi is still a game-changer for Sacramento.

Fox down

For only the second time this season, the Sacramento Kings had 15 healthy bodies on the roster. That lasted all of 1:58.

De’Aaron Fox grabbed at his lower back in the first minute of the game and headed straight for the Sacramento locker room. He was diagnosed with back spasms and did not return.

Fox is an integral part of what the Kings are trying to do on both ends of the court. Another extended absence for the 22-year-old would not be a good thing for Sacramento.
