Survive and advance: Dubs hold off Grizz, head to West finals

Klay Thompson got off to a hot start hitting five 3-pointers in the first half of Game 6 in the Warriors-Grizzlies playoff series.

The Warriors are headed back to the Western Conference finals and it took everything they had in the tank to hold off the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6 of the second-round playoff series at Chase Center on Friday night.

Golden State overcame a sloppy effort and pulled out a 110-96 win over the No. 2 seed Grizzlies, taking the series four-games-to-two.

The Warriors now await the winner of Game 7 between the top-seeded Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, which will take place Sunday at Footprint Center in Arizona.

If the Mavericks pulls off the upset, the West finals will begin in San Francisco next Wednesday. If the Suns win, the Warriors will head to Phoenix.

Game 6 Klay Thompson showed up in a big way for the Warriors as he finished with a team-high 30 points in the nail-biting win. Steph Curry added 29 while Draymond Green (14), Andrew Wiggins (18) and Jordan Poole (12) also reached double figures.

This is the Warriors' first trip to the West finals since they made five straight trips from 2015 through 2019.
