Report: Warriors forward Paschall a potential Jazz trade target

While Bob Myers was very happy with how the draft went, he spoke candidly to the media about how the Warriors will need to add some veterans before they can be considered championship contenders.

It sounds like Eric Paschall could be on the move soon.

The Warriors forward is "emerging as a potential trade target" for the Utah Jazz, league sources told The Athletic's Tony Jones.

Paschall is very close friends with Jazz star guard Donovan Mitchell.

Paschall -- the No. 41 overall pick in 2019 -- had a strong rookie season with the Warriors in 2019-20, which culminated with a First-Team All-Rookie nod.

But he took a step back in Year 2, and ended up missing 29 of Golden State's final 32 games (and did not get off the bench in either of the play-in games).

"We were trying to fit him into this style that we play," general manager Bob Myers said in late May. "Steve [Kerr] had him at the five, and then it became a glut there. And so trying to figure out how he could play the four was a challenge. And I think Steve would acknowledge that.

"So for Eric it's about figuring out what Steve wants from him [and] what he can bring consistently. But it was so scattered -- whether it was James [Wiseman] coming or going in the second unit ... so it's a hard one. There's not an easy answer for it."

It's unclear what the Warriors might get in return if they do trade Paschall to Utah.

The 24-year-old is scheduled to make about $1.8 million next season before becoming a free agent.
