The Dallas Mavericks will be one of 22 teams competing when the NBA restarts the 2019-20 season in late July, but former Warriors and Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein will not be joining his new team in Orlando, sources tell The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Cauley-Stein and his partner reportedly are expecting a child born in July.

The big man started the season with the Warriors after signing a one-year contract in free agency last summer. Cauley-Stein was traded to the Mavericks in late January for a second-round draft pick, giving the 26-year-old his first chance at playing for a playoff contender. He spent his first four NBA seasons with the Kings after being drafted No. 6 overall by Sacramento in 2015.

He averaged 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 13 games with the Mavericks before the league's stoppage on March 11.
