For the last month, Klay Thompson has been sending a clear message to his critics: He's not done. Not even close.
The five-time NBA All-Star reiterated that by dropping a season-high 54 points in the Warriors' thrilling 143-141 double-overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night at Chase Center.
Thompson went 21 of 39 from the field and 10 of 21 from 3-point range, while grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out three assists and finishing plus-13.
The 54 points is the second-highest single-game total of Thompson's career, trailing only his 60-point game against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 5, 2016. He now has four games with at least 50 points, including two 52-point performances in 2015 and 2018.
Thompson's performance caught the attention of LeBron James, who scored 43 points earlier in the night to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a win over the Charlotte Hornets.
Here's how NBA Twitter reacted to Thompson's scorching-hot night.
Thompson played a season-high 46 minutes and after the game, he told NBC Sports Bay Area that his tank was running on empty.
