JP continues red-hot playoffs with electric Game 3 first half

Jordan Poole was aggressive early in Game 3 of the Western Conference first round against the Nuggets. But he came up worse for wear after taking a shot in the first quarter. He ended up staying in the game.

Jordan Poole's ascension during the NBA playoffs arguably has been the biggest storyline for the Warriors so far.

Poole scored a total of 59 points during his first two career playoff games -- both Warriors wins over the Denver Nuggets -- and the third-year pro didn't slow down in the first half of Game 3 at Ball Arena.

Starting for the third straight game in place of Steph Curry, who is on an increased minutes restriction as he returns from a sprained left foot, Poole led the Warriors with 16 first-half points.

Poole now has played five halves of NBA playoff basketball and has scored double figures in all of them (13, 17, 14, 15 and now 16).

The 22-year-old finished the half 6-of-8 from the floor and 3-of-4 from 3-point range.

Poole was even making shots that didn't count.

The Warriors are going to need another big half from Poole after halftime if they want to take a commanding three-games-to-none lead over the Nuggets in their first-round NBA playoff series.
