OAKLAND – On a night when defense was an afterthought, the Warriors turned to a tried-and-true offensive formula: Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
And the two All-Star guards got plenty of scoring support from Kevin Durant.

Curry and Thompson scored 30 points each, while Durant poured in 29 to lift the Warriors to a 131-119 win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday at Oracle Arena.
Draymond Green added 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Warriors (8-2) used potent offense and solid rebounding (42-38 edge) to offset their lackluster defensive effort. The Suns (3-8), coming off a loss on Saturday in Phoenix, still managed to shoot 51.1 percent from the field. The Warriors shot 51.7 percent.

Curry did a lot of damage early, while Thompson came along later to bury the Suns.
Curry’s line: 30 points (9-of-17 shooting, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, 7-of-7 from the line), six assists, six rebounds and two steals. He played 37 minutes and finished plus-22.
Thompson’s line: 30 points (11-of-18, 5-of-8, 3-of-3) and two rebounds. He scored 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Warriors pulled away. He played 33 minutes and finished plus-2.
TURNING POINT
For a full three quarters and into the fourth, each team responded to a run by the opponent with one of its own – until the Warriors got it going midway through the final quarter.
After Phoenix took a 111-106 lead on a pair of Brandon Knight free throws with 6:15 left, the Warriors came back with a 18-4 run, initiated by three free throws from Thompson. That provided a 124-115 lead with 2:39 remaining.
The Warriors closed the game on a 27-9 run as the Suns fell flat down the stretch.
INJURY UPDATE
Warriors: C Damian Jones (R pectoral surgery recovery) was listed as out and F/C James Michael McAdoo was a healthy inactive.
Suns: C Tyson Chandler (bereavement) rejoined the team but, along with F Derrick Jones Jr., was placed on the inactive list.
