Hours after Kevin Durant's knee injury, reports that the Warriors would sign Matt Barnes began to surface.
On Thursday morning, Golden State officially inked the soon-to-be 37-year old.
Following shootaround, Barnes posted a message to Warriors fans through the team's Twitter account:

"Dub Nation, what up, it's Matt Barnes. I'm here -- back -- blessed, honored. Can't wait to earn your guys' respect and help this team win a championship."
Barnes averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the 2006-07 "We Believe" Warriors.

He registered 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in Golden State's series-clinching Game 6 win over the No. 1 seed Dallas Mavericks in the opening round of the playoffs.
"This is the last place my mom saw me play before she died of cancer," Barnes told reporters on Thursday. "A lot of special memories and relationships I built here. And it's just great to be back."
