Right-handed relief pitcher Jimmie Sherfy has been claimed by Los Angeles after having pitched a combined 18 1/3 innings with the Giants major league team and Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats.

Having spent some time with the Giants at the major league level this season, Sherfy appeared in 10 2/3 innings, surrendering five runs, striking out nine batters and walking four.
