Jon Miller honored Duane Kuiper with his signature home run call as Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford went deep against the Ranger.
The year is 2029. Buster Posey doubled to right-center field, Brandon Crawford still is making highlight-reel plays at shortstop and Brandon Belt walked twice but still found ways to anger Giants fans.
All is well right now in San Francisco, and the above scenario somehow doesn't feel far from a reality at this point. With the Giants atop the NL West at the 60-game mark and Crawford playing like a NL MVP candidate, Posey and the Brandons can't help but crack and smile and laugh right now.
That was the case Tuesday night in the top of the ninth inning as Crawford hit his second home run of the night in the Giants' 9-4 win over the Texas Rangers.

Crawford now has 14 home runs in just 52 games this season. That's tied for his career high in homers. Oh, and he did that on the same night he broke the Giants' franchise record for all-time games played by a shortstop.
He also is batting .269 (his highest since 2016) with career highs in on-base percentage (.363), slugging percentage (.575) and OPS (.938). His 2.4 oWAR is ninth in the majors.
Belt has been hampered by injuries but does have eight homers in only 41 games, and that's coming off a career-best season where he finished 16th in NL MVP voting.

And then there's Posey, who opted out of last season and has never looked better. The 34-year-old is batting .336 with 10 home runs in just 41 games. His batting average is tied for the best of his storied career, plus he has career highs in on-base percentage (.411), slugging percentage (.577) and OPS (.988).
