Khris Davis is officially Major League Baseball's home run king.

Davis finished the regular season with a career-high 48 homers, five more than anyone else in the league. He is the first A's player to lead the majors in long balls since Mark McGwire hit 52 in 1996.

Davis' 48 home runs rank third in Oakland history and are tied for fourth in A's franchise history. They are also the fifth most homers by any big leaguer since 2010.

This was Davis' third straight season hitting at least 40 homers. Since joining the A's in 2016, he leads MLB with 133 round-trippers.

Davis also finished second in MLB with 123 RBI, seven behind Boston's J.D. Martinez. It was his third straight season surpassing 100 RBI. He is just the second A's player with 40-plus home runs and 100-plus RBI in three consecutive seasons, joining Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx.
