The A’s and Angels played in the first game in MLB history that went to extra innings since the new rule placing a runner at second base went into effect. Matt Olson won it for Oakland with a walk-off grand slam.

The A's and Angels will complete their four-game series in Oakland on Monday afternoon.

A's slugger Matt Olson crushed a no-doubt grand slam in the tenth inning to secure a 7-3 Opening Day win for the A's over the Los Angeles Angels, but the Angels cruised to a 4-1 win on Saturday. The A's then roughed up Shohei Ohtani and held on for a 6-4 win on Sunday afternoon.

Chris Bassitt and Griffin Canning will take the mound for Oakland and LA, respectively, as the AL West rivals close out the series Monday.
