Chelsea picked a bad day to debut a new kit with a gigantic "3" emblazoned on the chest.
The Blues lost to/drew London rivals West Ham United 3-2 on Wednesday, dropping points with a chance to take sole possession of third place in the Premier League. Chelsea wore their new blue kit -- sponsored by UK telecom company Three -- for the match, but West Ham striker Andriy Yarmolenko's 89th-minute winner provided the lasting image.

Willian scored in the 42nd minute after American star Christian Pulisic drew a penalty for Chelsea. West Ham responded soon after, with Tomas Soucek equalizing -- thus making up for a goal overturned by VAR and an own goal last week against Tottenham Hotspur -- in the first half's fifth minute of stoppage time.
Michail Antonio gave West Ham the lead in the 51st minute, but a magic moment from Willian erased the Irons' advantage. Pulisic drew a foul outside of the box, and Willian capitalized with a sublime free kick that evened the score at 2-2 in the 72nd minute.
Yarmolenko and West Ham got the last laugh just before stoppage time, earning a much-needed three points to move three clear of the relegation zone. The win clinched West Ham's first league double against Chelsea since the 2002-03 season, and the Irons were clinical in doing so. West Ham scored on all three shots on target.
Pulisic maintained his hot form, as did Willian. But Chelsea did not. The Blues once again dropped points from a winning position Wednesday, and they're much closer in that area to the clubs battling relegation than the ones chasing UEFA Champions League qualification.

Leicester City's loss to Everton and Chelsea's defeat are boons for Manchester United, Wolves and the other teams looking to earn a spot in Europe next season. Chelsea's grip on fourth place is down to two points, while United and Wolves are only three points behind Leicester themselves.

There's still plenty of time for Chelsea to solidify a Champions League place, but another bad result could keep their new kits in the changing room.
