Quakes' Wondolowski to play for U.S. in Gold Cup

Forward Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes wasnamed to the United States National Team roster for the upcoming CONCACAF GoldCup. Head coach Bob Bradley released the full tournament roster on Monday.This is the second time Wondolowski has been called up torepresent his country. He trained in Southern California at the Home Depot Center with the team and started a match for the U.S. against Chile on Jan. 22 of this year.Being named to the US National Team is an incredible honorand Im excited to get to work with the guys next week, Wondolowski said.This is a dream come true to get out there and represent my country in anelite competition like the Gold Cup.Wondolowski and the United States team begins play with a friendly match against Spain on June 4 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.The U.S. team kickoff GoldCup play in Group C on June 7 against Canadaat Ford Field in Detroit.The Gold Cup final will be played Saturday, June 25 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
