Sharks general manager Doug Wilson could be seeking help up front via trade, according to CBCs Elliotte Friedman.
In his weekly 30 Thoughts, Friedman writes:
Among teams considered ready to make a move are Toronto and San Jose, with Chicago hovering. Brian Burke is one of the game's most aggressive GMs, and Doug Wilson appears ready to add depth as Martin Havlat moves closer to a return.
Havlat, who suffered a partially torn hamstring in December, is likely out until late February or early March. In Havlats absence, rookie Benn Ferriero has seen the majority of the time in his place, skating on the teams second line with Logan Couture and Ryane Clowe.

Friedman also mentions that the Tampa Bay Lightning may have considered Sharks goaltender Antero Niittymaki as a fix to its problems in net, if not for concerns about his surgically repaired hip. Niittymaki spent one season in Tampa Bay in 2009-10 before joining the Sharks.
