Watch Evander Kane's impressive dangle on first Sharks goal of season

SAN JOSE -- Sharks winger Evander Kane opened the season in memorable fashion Wednesday night, scoring a highlight-reel goal for his, and San Jose’s, first tally of the season.

With the Sharks trailing the Ducks 1-0, Kane corralled a pass to enter the offensive zone, then he showed off his dangles. He pulled the puck between Anaheim defenseman Josh Manson’s legs once he got there. John Gibson took away most of the net, but Kane's shot bounced off the inside of the Ducks goaltender's right pad, and into the back of the net.

Kane now has 10 goals in 18 regular-season games since the Sharks acquired him from the Sabres at the NHL trade deadline last February. The goal was Kane’s first since he signed a seven-year, $49 million contract extension with the Sharks in May -- a decision the winger said ended up being surprisingly straightforward.

“Ever since I got in the league, I always said I would never sell myself short and not test the market,” Kane told NBC Sports California in September. “Personally, I think if it was anybody but San Jose, I definitely would’ve.”
