SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks have the opportunity to end their four-game homestand on a high note. But it will no doubt be a tough battle as they face the Minnesota Wild for the first time this season.
“This is probably one of, if not the, best team we’ve played this year so far,” Logan Couture said. “They have a lot of skill up front. Their d-men move the puck and move their feet. So, it’s a real challenge for us.”

In addition to spending the bulk of the contest playing from behind, San Jose had to reshuffle its forward attack after Tomas Hertl came out of the game with an apparent head injury. Hertl is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday’s tilt with the Wild.
The Wild’s visit to San Jose comes in the midst of a seven-game road trip and is their first of four games in a six-day span. They have won two of the first three games on the trip, beating both the Edmonton Oilers and the St. Louis Blues.
This is the first of three games between the Sharks and the Wild this season. San Jose is 5-1-2 in their last eight meetings with Minnesota, outscoring them 29-22. In 62 franchise games, the Sharks are 32-20-2-8 against the Wild including a 19-9-1-3 record on home ice.
