The San Jose Sharks hope they can turn their road trip around in their Saturday matinee against Erik Karlsson’s former team, the Ottawa Senators.
The Sharks have lost all three of their decisions so far on this current five-game stint away from SAP Center, most recently falling to the Maple Leafs in Toronto 5-3. They play back-to-back games this weekend against the Senators and the Montreal Canadiens before they return to home ice.

The Sens enter Saturday having won two consecutive games. Top-liners Matt Duchene and Drake Batherson tallied two points apiece Thursday night, as Ottawa netminder Craig Anderson made 27 saves on his way to shutting out the New York Rangers 3-0.
Saturday’s game will serve as a highly anticipated reunion for both teams, which were involved in a massive eight-player trade just before training camp opened. In addition to this being the first time Karlsson has played against the Senators, the Sharks also will get their first look at former players Chris Tierney, Dylan DeMelo and Mikkel Boedker in Ottawa sweaters.
This is the first matchup of a two-game season series between Ottawa and San Jose. The Sharks are 15-13-4-2 all time against the Senators.
San Jose will be without winger Timo Meier, who will miss his second consecutive game with an undisclosed injury.
