After spending the bulk of October on the road, the Sharks are preparing for a four-game homestand that kicks off Tuesday evening as they host the New York Rangers.

Team Teal is coming off a nail-biter in Anaheim, eventually defeating the Ducks 4-3 in overtime. Timo Meier scored two goals in that game, extending his goal streak to four games. He's scored eight goals so far this season.

During Tuesday’s morning skate, Meier was bumped up to the first line with Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton. Thornton will make his return to the ice after being sidelined almost a month.

New York comes into SAP Center with a 0-4-1 road record, including a rough 4-3 loss to the LA Kings on Sunday. They’ve gone 1-3-1 in their last five and have the same record when the other team scores first – something San Jose likes to do early and often.
