SAN JOSE -- It was nearly two weeks ago the Sharks started their swing through the east coast with a matinee contest against the New York Islanders. That game ended in a 4-0 loss, and Team Teal has a shot at redemption Saturday night as the Isles visit the Tank for the second of a two-game season series.
The Sharsk are coming off a dominant 5-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres Thursday evening. Logan Couture registered his third career hat trick, while Evander Kane and Brent Burns registered two assists a piece. Martin Jones had his best performance of the season between the pipes, turning away 24 of 25 shots and contributing to the Sharks' penalty kill efforts to keep the Sabres from converting on their five attempts on the man advantage.
Isles netminder Robin Lehner, who blanked the Sharks when they visited New York, came out of Thursday night's game against the LA Kings after taking a puck to the mask. Islanders coach Barry Trotz said Saturday morning Lehner is okay to play and will start against the Sharks Saturday evening.
