The San Jose Sharks are looking to close their three-game road trip on a high note Sunday night, as they square off with the Pacific Division rival Anaheim Ducks.
The Sharks dropped a tough game to the Hurricanes on Friday. After jumping out to a 2-0 first-period lead, the Sharks spent the majority of periods two and three hemmed in their own zone by the Hurricanes' offense. Aaron Dell put on a magnificent performance as he kept San Jose in the 3-3 game through overtime play.
Carolina's Brock McGinn had the one shootout marker to give the Hurricanes a 4-3 victory and halt the Sharks' winning streak at three.

The Ducks, on the other hand, are looking to turn things around after losing four consecutive games. They starting their 2018-19 season surprisingly well -- including a 5-2 victory over the Sharks on Oct. 3 -- but their lack of defense in front of netminder John GIbson is starting to cost the team points.
The Sharks' rivalry with the Ducks has spanned 137 games, with San Jose 70-54-4-9 against Anaheim.
There are a few question marks regarding starting rosters for Sunday's meeting. Sharks forward Tomas Hertl left Friday's game after the second period with an undisclosed injury, and it’s unclear if it will keep him from playing. Ducks winger Jakob Silfverberg, who has been sidelined since Oct. 14 with a hand injury, could return to Anaheim's lineup.
