Programming note: Sharks-Devils coverage starts today at 3:30pm with Sharks Pregame Live on CSN California.

Where they stand
Sharks: 3-0-0, 6 points, 2nd Pacific Division
Devils: 0-3-0, 0 points, 7th Metropolitan Division

The latest

Sharks: The Sharks cruised past Washington on Tuesday, 5-0, in the first game of their four-game road trip to improve to 3-0-0 on the season. Martin Jones made 31 saves for his second straight shutout, and five different players scored goals.

Devils: New Jersey fell to 0-3-0 for just the second time in team history, losing at home to Nashville on Tuesday, 3-1. The Devils have yet to gain a lead in any of their first three games.

Keep an eye on…

Sharks: Nikolay Goldobin. The Sharks’ 2014 first round draft pick will make his NHL debut tonight on the left side of the Joe Thornton-Joe Pavelski line. Goldobin has a ton of offensive potential, but he’ll have to play well defensively to avoid going back to the AHL.
