TAMPA -- The San Jose Sharks acquired forward Dominic Moore and a seventh round pick in the 2012 draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a second round pick in 2012, it was announced shortly before their game with the Lightning on Thursday night.
Moore did not suit up for the game.
In 56 games with the Lightning, Moore has four goals and 15 assists for 19 points and 48 penalty minutes with a -10 rating playing mainly as their third line center. Moore has also spent time on the wing, kills penalties, and has a 1.1 million salary cap hit this season. He is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

San Jose GM Doug Wilson addressed the move via the team's official Twitter feed shortly before the puck dropped on Thursday.
"Dominic is an extremely versatile player that has performed in a lot of important playoff games the last two years," Wilson said. "We feel that he is a great fit in several areas and his veteran presence will benefit our team greatly."
The second-round pick for Moore was originally acquired as part of the deal for Brent Burns.
Moore had a career-high 18 goals for Tampa Bay last season. The 6-foot, 195-pounder has played in 41 career Stanley Cup playoff games, including 37 over the last two seasons for Tampa Bay (2010-11) and Montreal (2009-10), posting 16 points (7 goals, 9 assists).
