The San Jose Sharks have recalled Thomas Bordeleau.
Bordeleau, who was named to the AHL All-Star team in January, is tied for fifth among AHL rookies with 22 goals.
This call-up feels like it’s been a long time coming for Bordeleau, who has impressed with his offensive derring-do all season. However, the Sharks had made it clear that they wanted to see a stronger 200-foot game from the University of Michigan star.
Bordeleau had been in a protracted slump, going without a goal for 10 games, through the first three weeks of March, but San Jose Hockey Now had heard various reports, from Barracuda head coach John McCarthy and NHL scouts outside the San Jose Sharks organization, that the 2020 second-round draft pick was showing signs of a more committed defensive game.
