Sharks forward Evander Kane issued an apology Sunday for insensitive remarks directed at Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves and his brother, Jordan, who plays for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
In a tweet, Kane referred to the two Reaves brothers as "sisters," as the parties were exchanging barbs. Kane eventually deleted the tweet and apologized for the language he used.

SIGN UP HERE "I used a term that was sexist in a earlier tweet," Kane wrote. "My intention wasn’t for it to come across that way at all. I would like to apologize for using that term and to anyone who was offended by it."

Kane and Reaves have a long-standing individual rivalry that hasn't been contained to the ice rink. They do not like each other one bit, and they don't exactly keep that a secret. Obviously, though, there are expectations for professional athletes and those in positions of influence, and Kane crossed a line he shouldn't have.
