Tomas Hertl can’t wait.
This morning, the NHL announced that the San Jose Sharks will open the 2022-23 regular season in Prague, Czechia. The Sharks are scheduled to face off against the Nashville Predators at O2 Arena on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8.
Before that, the Sharks will finish training camp in Berlin, Germany, highlighted by a pre-season game against Eisbären Berlin at Mercedes-Benz Arena on Oct. 4. Sharks owner Hasso Plattner is a Berlin native and lives in Germany.
“I can’t wait for the experience,” Prague native Hertl told us this morning. “We will play in the building that I started to play pro hockey in. I used to go to watch hockey. And now I’ll be playing an NHL game [there].”
